It is with great pleasure and giddiness and gratitude that we announce: we've just had our choreographic debut onstage at The Actors Fund Arts Center! On April 7th, 8th and 9th, we premiered our newest ballet, 'STRATA', choreographed and performed by the three of us in collaboration with composer and percussionist Max Kanowitz and visual artist Nancy Baker, at three sold-out performances of CounterPointe5 -- Norte Maar's fifth annual showcase that presents new work by women choreographers in collaboration with women visual artists.

We're so honored to have been part of CounterPointe5, and we have to thank Jason Andrew and Julia Gleich, co-founders of Norte Maar and dance and visual art curators of CounterPointe, for their generosity, encouragement and support, and for wanting to give us more and more opportunities to create and collaborate.

We have to also thank our generous Patrons on Patreon, without whom we could not have spent all that time in the studio, experimenting, creating, erasing, editing, failing, finding, discovering, playing, committing, learning, growing.

SO, THANK YOU, dear Patrons, collaborators, friends, supporters, and mentors - for helping us turn our "insane dreams into reality". When we started this company in the summer of 2016, we could never have imagined all of this taking place only nine months later!

Love! And more love!

konverjdans: spring 2017 performances

We are thrilled to announce four of our upcoming performances in New York City this spring!

konverjdans has been invited to perform on the opening weekend of Nothing Twice, a visual arts exhibition at the John Doe gallery in Brooklyn that will feature seven female painters and sculptors "preoccupied with ephemeral materials" and a "relentless sense of transience" - the perfect setting, we think, for the most ephemeral of art forms: DANCE. So we're teaming with our resident musical genius, percussionist/composer Max Kanowitz to exploit the capricious nature of unplanned movement, sound and space, and performing 'Only Once', an evening of completely improvised music and dance, on March 11, 2017.

We're also choreographing a new piece in collaboration with visual artist Nancy Baker, whose wonderful and dynamic work is directly inspiring and driving our choreographic process. The piece, set to new music by Kanowitz, will be performed on April 7, 8 and 9 at CounterPointe5 - Norte Maar's annual showcase of "new work by women choreographers working with the pointe shoe" in collaboration with female visual artists.
